Estonia is a place where an affinity for nature and the benefits of digital society go hand in hand. We treasure Estonia’s breathtaking nature, such as the forests and marshes, just as much as our e-state solutions; in fact, you could say that we use the latter to spend more time enjoying the former.
Estonians have a special connection with nature, and this is reflected in our everyday life and values. A dialogue between the land and the people of this country has been going on for thousands of years – it has shaped our history, our values, our lifestyle, and our way of thinking.
Despite its size, Estonia has a lot to offer. You can learn more about Estonian history, art or culture in one of many museums, beautiful forests, and national parks, and at cultural events; everything is within reach here. If you want to learn more about all the exciting things that are happening in Estonia at the moment, please take a look at Visit Estonia and events.estonia.ee.
By now you have probably also heard about Estonia’s e-state solutions that make life easier and more efficient. One of Estonia’s latest ground-breaking achievements is the creation of e-Residency, a transnational digital identity available to anyone in the world interested in administering a location-independent business online. By using e-voting, participation in national elections can take place online. Digital signatures and the payment and management of taxes online have also made many lives easier. In Estonia, digital solutions are everywhere.
In addition to the Estonian Presidency, Estonia will also be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2018, and there is a full calendar of fun and interesting cultural events dedicated both to the Presidency and Estonia’s centenary. We hope you will celebrate with us!
